Digital Radiography

Silver Star Animal Hospital strives to provide the best service possible to our clients in Orlando, Ocoee, Apopka, and Windermere, Florida. An essential part of any healthcare facility, whether it is human or animal care, is diagnostic testing. This may be blood work, lab testing, ultrasounds, or radiography. Radiography is more commonly known as x-ray, and has been around for more than 100 years. X-ray technology is used to identify broken bones, internal injuries, organ size, tumor identification, and foreign object locations.

Silver Star Animal Hospital stands out above the rest by using digital radiography technology instead of old-fashioned x-ray films. Digital radiography has become an extremely effective and essential diagnostic tool for veterinarians because it is painless, safe, non-invasive, and it provides information about interior parts of the body quickly, and without the need for numerous retakes. It allows our veterinarians to instantly download digital images directly to computers. This enables the doctor to zoom in on small areas for a more thorough examination, and manipulate and enhance the image if necessary. This capability and speed means a quicker, accurate diagnosis and treatment for your pet.

Additionally, we can take advantage of telemedicine, a process that allows the digital images to be shared instantly with board certified veterinary radiologists and specialists for consultation if required.

We know that your pets are part of your family and it is our mission to help ensure a long and healthy life for each and every one of them.
